Escape from Trump: Cruise company offers Americans four-year voyage

A cruise company from Florida is offering Americans disgruntled by the election an escape. The company is offering them the chance to travel the world for the four years that Trump will be in office.
Villa Vie Residences has capitalised on the election results, offering Americans a four-year escape at a starting price of around $160,000 per person. Guests would get to visit over 425 ports in 140 countries.
The Tour La Vie has four deals and is not so subtly aimed at Democrat voters. The deals are One-Year Escape from Reality, Two-Year Mid-Term Selection, Three-Year Everywhere but Home, and Four-Year Skip Forward.
“If you’re looking for an escape… there is no better place than on a ship, right, where you can wake up every day to a new backyard and get everything you need taken care of,” said Mikael Petterson, the company’s founder and CEO.
Petterson said that the company has begun to work on the marketing campaign before the election, saying that it would have introduced regardless of which of the two candidates had won the election.
“It’s not really a political campaign at all… it just happened that Trump won and there are more Democrats that are unhappy living in the US now than Republicans,” he said.
The Villa Vie Odyssey can house up to 600 residents. It has already set sail and any guests wanting to climb aboard can do so at most of the ports it will dock at. The ship had recently been stranded in Belfast for four months due to a need to some repairs.
Earlier this year, a cruise had gone viral after offering customers a nine-month voyage, leading to disaster for many of the guests who shared their grievances on TikTok.
