British Airways plans for “record-breaking” summer in 2025
British Airways has said that it will operate a record number of flights between London and North America in the summer of 2025. The airline will offer over 400 direct flights weekly during its busiest weeks.
It operates from 26 American cities, offering non-stop flights to London, more than any other European carrier. It also boasts that it is the only European airline with a luxury First class cabin over the Atlantic to London.
The busy summer schedule will see British Airways add of a number of routes to London Heathrow per week.
Flights from Miami in Florida will be doubled to 14 per week and will become a twice-a-day service year-round. There will also be a brand-new lounge in Miami in 2025.
An additional six flights a week will be running from Austin, bringing the total to 13 services a week. Earlier this year, it celebrated a decade of flights between London and the Texas capital and now it will expand to offer even more flexibility for travellers between the two cities.
There will be a total of ten flights from Las Vegas with the inclusion of an additional one and the popular route from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania will increase from six to seven. It will now be a daily service for the first time.
America’s capital, Washington DC will see an increase of seven flights per week, bringing the total to 21 while Vancouver in Canada will also double to fourteen like Miami.
“We continue to grow our network and these additional services across the US reflect the growing demand for travel to and from London,” Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer. “We are committed to providing our customers with greater choice and convenience, and we are excited to offer more opportunities for them to experience our world-class service.”
Over the last decade, British Airways has added six new routes from cities all over the US. These include Austin in 2014, New Orleans in 2016, Nashville in 2018, Pittsburgh in 2019, Portland, Oregon in 2022, and Cincinnati in 2023.
