Daytona to host Aston Martin’s bid for glory in 2025 Rolex 24

Aston Martin Vantage will be aiming for victory at the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona, one of North America’s most prestigious endurance races, as it kicks off the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this weekend.

The 2024 Spa 24 Hours-winning Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will lead the charge for the British luxury marque in both the GTD Pro and GTD categories. The team, led by the Seattle-based Heart of Racing (THOR), is hoping to replicate the success of its 2023 Daytona win. THOR will field two cars: the #007 Vantage in GTD Pro and the #27 entry in GTD. The GTD Pro lineup includes Roman De Angelis, a 2022 IMSA GTD champion, and three-time FIA World Endurance Champion Marco Sørensen, alongside regulars Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas.

Magnus Racing, another long-time Aston Martin partner, will also feature at Daytona, aiming for another podium finish after taking second place in the GTD class last year. The team, which has claimed two class wins at the Rolex 24, will field a Vantage with drivers John Potter, Andy Lally, Spencer Pumpelly, and AMR works driver Nicki Thiim.

Van der Steur Racing will make its Daytona debut with a Vantage GT3 in the Rolex 24, following a strong 2024 season with the GT4 version. The team’s #19 Vantage will be piloted by Aston Martin works driver Valentin Hasse Clot and a talented driver lineup including Maxime Robin and Andrew McIntosh.

Aston Martin’s presence at Daytona extends beyond the WeatherTech Championship, with four Vantage GT4s entered in the four-hour IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge opener on Friday, 24 January. This includes last year’s championship-winning team, Team TGM, and Rebel Rock Racing, which will look to build on its 2024 success.

With a combination of world-class drivers and a proven Vantage GT3, Aston Martin is poised for a thrilling race at Daytona, setting the stage for an exciting year in global endurance racing.
