Aspiring pilots in London invited to apply for fully funded Jet2 training

Aspiring pilots in London now have the chance to apply for a fully funded training scheme launched by Jet2.com, aimed at opening up careers in aviation to people from all walks of life.

The new programme, Jet2FlightPath, is accepting applications from across the UK and gives 60 successful candidates the opportunity to become commercial airline pilots without having to cover the usual six-figure cost of training.

Whether you’re a recent school leaver, thinking about a career change, or simply ready to pursue something you’ve always wanted to do, this could be the right opportunity. The programme is open to anyone over 18 with at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths and a science.

Applicants don’t need prior flying experience. Those selected will complete an 18-month Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) course at one of Jet2’s partner academies in the UK, Spain or the United States, with all costs, including type-rating for either Airbus or Boeing aircraft, fully covered by Jet2.com.

The training is designed to go beyond technical flying skills. Aspiring pilots will also spend time learning about the airline’s day-to-day operations, including work with ground teams and cabin crew, to better understand the full picture of life in aviation.

Jet2 currently employs over 1,800 pilots and expects to operate up to 135 aircraft in summer 2025. With passenger demand increasing, the company says it’s the right time to offer more people, especially those who may have thought flying was out of reach, a way into the profession.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said:

“We know that the cost of training is an obstacle to many people who dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot. This programme helps remove that barrier and opens the door for people from all backgrounds to take that step.”

Applications are open now. For full details and to apply, visit the Jet2FlightPath information page.
