Alpine’s engineering teams are going through the last tests for the upcoming A390 before it makes its debut on 27th May in France. The upcoming fastback electric SUV was taken to Michelin’s Ladoux complex where the car’s handling was demonstrated on the slippery road.
Alpine says that the A390 “incorporates all of Alpine’s dynamic DNA, with performance at the highest level of the brand’s models, while offering the space of a genuine 5-seater.” Before it goes on sale, it has been taken to the track where it will be signed off. The 4.1km wet track, Alpine says, is “ideal for pushing the A390 to its limits.”
The French car maker, part of the Renault group, says that this track is “the perfect proving ground” to test the car’s technology and performance. This includes three electric motors which will enable torque vectoring, and a new Track Mode which adjusts the stability control.
The car will make use of tyres developed jointly with Michelin, 20-inch Pilot Sport EV, and 21-inch Pilot Sport 4S.
The upcoming electric car will make its world debut on 27th May at a live-streamed press conference.
