Big Christmas Lunch to come back in Hammersmith
The Big Christmas Lunch is back for older residents and those who would otherwise be celebrating the holiday alone. Once again, the borough hopes to host up to 500 residents at the Novotel London West Hotel. Free transport will be offered for anyone who needs it.
The day is completely free for anyone who will be attending thanks to donations from residents, businesses, and the council’s partnership with local charity H&F Giving.
“Christmas is a time to celebrate and get together with friends, family and neighbours, and our Big Christmas Lunch makes sure no one is left out,” Cllr Alex Sanderson, Deputy Leader of H&F, said. “The day is always filled with fun and it’s part of our work to build a stronger, safer and kinder borough.”
To be eligible, you must be a resident of the borough and either aged 60 or over, or referred to by one of the services or charities in the borough. Follow the link to make a guest booking. Online applications close on Wednesday 10th December, and confirmations of your place, menu choice, and any transport requests will be sent out the week commencing 15th December.
The Big Christmas Lunch is funded completely by donations and crowdfunding. The 2025 campaign is now open. Click here to make a donation. Volunteer applications for goodie bag packing and working at the hotel are also open. If you would like to help either before or on the day, use the volunteer sign up form.
Transport company HATS Group will also need volunteer applications to help residents get to and from the mini buses. Email m.ali@hatsgroup.com to get in touch with them.
