Get Online Week names Richmond’s AI information session runner-up

The Get Online Week ‘Share Your Story’ competition, organised by the Good Things Foundation, has named Richmond’s AI information session as runner-up in the ‘AI and Emerging Tech’ category. The free sessions have expanded the usual presentation to include a hands-on practical element, according to the council.

It encourages residents to “explore how AI already features in everyday digital life,” adding that the library team was “on hand throughout to answer questions and guide participants.”

Previous topics have included information about eLibraries, cloud storage, and shopping online safely.

Upcoming sessions:

  • January: Truth or Myth – Navigating health information in the digital age

  • March: An Introduction to AI (practical element included)

“Our libraries continue to play a vital role in supporting digital access and confidence,” the council said in a press release. “We offer free Wi-Fi in all libraries, public network computers and scanners, one-to-one digital support, regular drop ins at the Information and Reference Library on the first and fourth Saturday, every month.” Follow the link to learn more.
