Free Art Trail brings Chimpanzee Statues to Richmond

A free art trail for nature conservation will teach people of all ages about Chimpanzees and global wildlife in Richmond this summer, inviting people to share their experience with the hashtag: #BeWildinRichmond

Until the end of August, Richmond town centre becomes the canvas for an art initiative aimed at wildlife conservation. From now until 31st August, residents and visitors can embark on the ‘Chimps are Family’ trail, a specially curated path adorned with captivating chimpanzee statues.

The ‘Chimps are Family’ trail, organised by Be Richmond in partnership with renowned artists Gillie and Marc Art and the conservation organisation WWF UK, transforms the streets of Richmond into an educational journey. Each statue along the trail is not just a visual delight but also a source of intriguing facts about chimpanzees, designed to enlighten the public about these fascinating creatures and the urgent need to protect their habitats.

“This trail is a fantastic way to combine art with education and conservation,” said a representative from Be Richmond. “We hope it will raise awareness and generate much-needed support for the efforts to protect chimpanzees and their environments.”
