A colourful makeover to an underpass in Clapham Junction is among the planned changes to Wandsworth for 2025. He redesign underneath Falcon Road Bridge, at a cost of £4.5 million, hopes to improve the area around the station and become a new landmark.
More council homes are planned to be built for the year. Major planning applications have been approved and will begin construction.
Wandsworth has been chosen as the London Borough of Culture for 2025 which will mean many events to enjoy in the borough. Culture, the council says, will be central to its approach to improving life for its residents.

“Being London Borough of Culture is a huge opportunity for Wandsworth,” Labour Council Leader Simon Hogg. “By showing London what we offer we can grow our night-time economy, support local businesses and have a fun year at the same time. We are looking forward to working with our partners to stage a spectacular and memorable year.”
Meanwhile, the bridge is one step of many towards the regeneration of Clapham Junction. The area hopes to accommodate 2,500 new homes and as many new jobs.
