The tournament will feature many Premier League stars, including Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush representing Egypt, the most successful team in AFCON history. Three Manchester United players are expected to take part, Bryan Mbuemo or Cameroon, Amad Diallo of current reigning champions, Côte d’Ivoire, and Noussair Mazraoui for 2022 World Cup semi-finalists Morocco. Senegal and Everton duo Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye, Fulham’s Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, both for Nigeria, and West Ham’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the Democratic Republic of Congo are all expected, as are Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr for Senegal, and Wolves defender Emmanuel Agbadou for Côte d’Ivoire.

The deal between CAF and Channel 4 was facilitated in partnership with IMG, the confederation’s international media rights and sponsorship agency.
