The classic comedy follows Basil Fawlty, a feisty hotel owner whose outrageous attempts to “raise the tone” of his seaside hotel result in complaints, complications, and chaos, for guests and staff alike. This often results in furious tirades between Basil and his guests, employees, and wife/business partner Sybil.
The classic sitcom has earned itself fans around the globe and made Torquay a popular holiday hotspot in the 1970s. The sharp-minded, sarcastic, and silly characters are still quoted today and you can see them all in John Cleese’s Fawlty Towers – The Play.
Look out for Spanish waiter Manuel, the kind-natured general assistant, Polly, and of course, the man himself, Basil, who will be bringing mayhem to the stage, bring laughter to a whole new audience. You will not want to miss this classic show. Just don’t mention the war!
