Yellow Buggies Could Transform London Transport in Fulham Trial
Something new has hit the streets of Fulham—and no, you’re not imagining things. Those bright yellow golf-cart-like vehicles zipping around are part of a new transport trial by Yo-Go. Officially called Neighbourhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs), these yellow buggies might just be the quirky solution Londoners didn’t know they needed.
These little buggies, which can hit speeds of 20 mph, are available to hire for just 20p a minute. The best bit? There’s no parking drama. Thanks to a deal with Hammersmith and Fulham Council, they can be parked anywhere in the borough—for free. You’ll need to be over 25 to use them, though, and don’t get any wild ideas about taking them onto motorways or dual carriageways. They’re legal for regular roads but better suited to local streets.

Booking one is simple—you just use the app, similar to how Lime bikes work. At the moment, there are only 10 of these yellow rides available in the borough, but Yo-Go plans to expand to 50 soon. They’re even eyeing a full London rollout, although it’s still unclear when that might happen.
Sam Bailey, Yo-Go’s chief exec, is pretty excited about what these buggies could mean for the city. “We’re trying to create a more affordable way for people to drive a low-emission vehicle,” he said.
“It’s about making streets safer and more pleasant, not just for drivers but for cyclists and pedestrians too.”
He added that the compact size of these buggies helps reduce congestion. “Smaller vehicles mean better traffic flow and fewer parking headaches—it’s good for everyone.” Bailey also called the trial a “world-first,” which adds a bit of bragging rights to the mix.
So, what do you think? Are these yellow buggies the future of getting around London, or are they just a flash in the pan? Either way, they’re certainly turning heads in Fulham right now.
